English Translation Notes: wanted to teach my American-born kids some Chinese. Maybe too late now (they are college age)? My last desperate try will be introducing them to some Chinese pop music. (一直想让孩子学中文,现在她们已大,可能已晚?只能用“亚洲永恒流行乐女王”邓丽君的歌再试一下了。《何日君再来》已有几个英译版本,如下是我自己翻译的) 6park.comWhen Will You Come Again?
Flowers don’t bloom for long; good times can’t last forever.
Sad though I put on a happy face, tears streaming down like river.

Life is too short to steep in sorrow; be merry now, or never.
(Speaking: “Come on, finish the drink then we’ll talk”)
Till I see you again, as we part when the night is over.
Stop the farewell song, raise your glass higher.
We’ll do some hearty talk and embrace shoulder to shoulder.
