The organization will help them come to Japan to learn Japanese and to land jobs. The Japanese IT industry is facing a serious shortage of engineers. In February, there were more than 2 job offers for every job seeker in the industry. The ministry hopes to set up a new organization this summer to help students from Vietnam, India and other Asian countries study at language schools in Japan and find work after graduation. Ministry officials say Asian companies are moving to take advantage of the increasing demand in Japan. For example, a Vietnamese IT firm is considering sending 5,000 engineers to Japan over the next 3 years to have them study Japanese. Officials say they hope to double the number of foreign IT workers in Japan to 60,000 by 2020 by providing them with residency status. | |||
