Some of you may have recognized them. Some others are too young to know the designs. These patterns all appeared on banknotes for the third series of the renminbi, the Chinese currency, which were issued in 1962 and stopped circulation in 2000. 6park.com

6park.com 2019年版的第五套人民币已经于8月30号发行。这一版人民币的艺术设计由中央美术学院的团队负责。中央美院和人民币渊源颇深，央美团队参与了第二套到第五套人民币的票面设计工作。
The new edition of the fifth series of the renminbi were issued to the general circulation on Aug 30. Their designers are from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, whose staff members were deeply involved in the designs of the second, third, fourth and fifth series of the renminbi. 6park.com
这些参与设计的老师前辈之中就有今年刚迎来百岁生辰的周令钊先生。周先生是第二、三、四套人民币的总设计师之一。
Among these designers there is Zhou Lingzhao, who has turned 100 and was one of the chief designers of banknotes for the second, third and fourth series of the renminbi. 6park.com
周令钊先生 拍摄于2013年94岁时 周先生几十年的创作教育生涯堪称传奇。先给大家看下这张由著名摄影家孟昭瑞先生拍摄的1949年10月1日中华人民共和国成立庆典。
Zhou's career as an artist, designer and educator throughout several decades is a legend. Here is a photo taken by the famed photographer Meng Zhaorui during the founding ceremony of the People's Republic of China on Oct 1,1949. 6park.com
孟先生在2012年将这张照片送给了周先生，为什么呢？因为当年正是周先生和他的夫人、同为艺术家的陈若菊共同绘制了天安门城楼上的那幅毛主席像。
Meng gave the picture to Zhou in 2012. Why? Because it was Zhou and his wife, Chen Ruoju, also an artist, who painted the portrait of late chairman Mao Zedong that was hung on the outer wall of the Tian'anmen rostrum. 6park.com
周先生在2008年画的毛主席画像绘制现场 1951年，周先生和另外两位央美的教授——罗工柳先生和王式廓先生——开始参与第二套人民币的设计，他们和北京人民印刷厂（今北京印钞有限公司）的工作人员精诚合作。 6park.comZhou recollects that they went to the Forbidden City and Summer Palace to seek inspiration, and they also traveled to the Yungang Grottoes in Shanxi province.
