Whereas the quality of their own are not known. If there is a war between the two, China will go to war with disadvantage of not knowing its own strength. This is its greatest worry. In the physical exchanges during the skirmishes in Galvan Valley China lost nearly five times the casualty of India. China never expected that India will overpower them one to five. Secondly India is the most popular country, recognised by both the super powers as well as middle powers like France, Great Britain, Germany, Canada, Australia, Japan etc. These countries are more than willing to aid India with weapons and ammunition at short notice and also agree to provide logistics. Also India has geographical advantage as well as its islands of Andaman and Nicobar Islands are acting as a deterrence for China. India can use these islands to mount it's offence on China.
