New Delhi, Mar 2 (EFE).- A Spanish tourist was allegedly attacked and gang-raped by a group of at least seven men in an eastern region of India while vacationing with her husband, her husband and police told EFE on Saturday. Three suspects have been arrested.
The husband reported that the assault occurred while they were in the eastern Indian state of Jharkhand.

Recounting the horror, the husband, also Spanish, said they were assaulted while sleeping in their tent, with the attackers threatening them with death and raping his wife, a Spanish citizen of Brazilian origin.
“We were attacked in the tent, they beat us, put a knife to my throat, saying they were going to kill us, and she was raped by seven men,” he stated in a video recording from the hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
The woman, visibly bruised in the video, said they were also robbed during the assault, clarifying, “We had very little, their real motive was to rape me.”
The couple, traveling for several months to tour the country from the southernmost point, had set up camp near a police station in the Dumka district when the assault occurred. The woman is currently receiving medical attention in a local hospital.
Local police have filed a report on the assault and gang rape, resulting in the detention of at least three suspects so far.
