Beijing rebuffs Taiwan's infrastructurebank application

外媒报道：北京断然拒绝台湾加入亚投行的申请



China signalled on Tuesday that Taiwanwould not be allowed to join the Beijing-backed Asian Infrastructure InvestmentBank (AIIB), which is seen as a counterweight to the Washington-based WorldBank.

中国周二暗示将不会允许台湾加入亚投行，亚投行被视为是世界银行的竞争者。

"As for Taiwan joining (the AIIB), wemaintain that we should avoid the 'two Chinas' and 'one China, one Taiwan'situation," foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying told a regularbriefing.

 "就台湾加入亚投行而言，我们坚持认为应该避免出现"两个中国"以及"一边一国"的情况，外交部发言人华春莹如是说。



Taiwan will present a letter of intent tothe AIIB preparatory committee, the presidential office in Taipei said Mondayfollowing a national security meeting chaired by Taiwanese President MaYing-jeou.

周一，在马英九主持的国家安全会议结束后，台湾的总统办公室称将向亚投行筹备委员会提交一份意向书。

But Beijing regularly proclaims theimportance of its "One China" policy, seeing the island as part ofits territory awaiting reunification, and often curtails Taiwan's involvementin international agreements. The two split in 1949 at the end of the Chinesecivil war.

但是北京经常宣称"一个中国"政策的重要性，认为台湾是中国的一部分，未来总会统一，并且经常阻止台湾参与国际协议。1949年内战结束时双方分裂。

Taiwan is not a member of the UnitedNations, World Bank or International Monetary Fund.

台湾都不是联合国，国际货币基金组织以及世界银行的成员。
