近来，“套路”一词风靡网络，红极一时，无论网络媒体还是传统平面媒体都以使用该词为时髦。今天，我们就来探讨一下“套路”翻译的套路。

其实，“套路”并不是新词，它在汉语中早已存在。据《现代汉语词典》(第7版)解释，“套路”有两层意义：一是指“编制成套的武术动作”，如“散打套路”“太极拳套路”等；二是指“传统的技术、方式、方法等”，如“突破传统套路的华侨城”。随着网络竞技游戏的流行，该词被赋予了全新的意义，用来形容精心策划的一套战法、计划。后来又被网民赋予了更新的意义，用来指某种模式化的花招、把戏，在社交媒体中迅速传播开来，并扩散到网络和现实生活的方方面面。各种标新立异的“套路”层出不穷，如“自古真情留不住，只有套路得人心”“城市套路深，我要回农村”“少一点套路，多一份真诚”等等，用来表达人们幽默、讽刺、戏谑等感情和心理，具有较强的娱乐色彩。

在传统意义的“套路”中，“套”字是“成套”“成系统”的意思，但作为网络流行语的“套路”，“套”字更倾向于指“圈套”“老套”。“套路”泛指经过精心编制的、具有欺骗性的说法或做法，与花招、把戏、伎俩、诡计、圈套、陷阱等词的含义接近。传统意义的“套路”属于中性词，没有明显的感情色彩，但表示“圈套”等意义的“套路”具有明显的贬义，多带有嘲讽、揶揄、戏谑的意味。目前，“套路”的三种意义同时并存，在翻译时，我们要区别对待，以译出其确切含义。

1. 编制成套的体育或武术动作

维基百科对武术或体育套路的解释是：“The term taolu (套路) is a shortened version of Tao Lu Yun Dong (套路运动), an expression introduced only recently with the popularity of modern wushu. This expression refers to ‘exercise sets’ and is used in the context of athletics or sport.”这种“套路”是指有系统的、成套的动作，可以译为routine、set、system、series、pattern等，如：

①这是一套融合了手法、步法、腿法的综合套路。

It is a comprehensive routine of hand techniques, footwork, and kicking techniques.

②跆拳道训练要求学习传统套路中既优雅又有力的踢脚、出拳和阻挡技巧。

Taekwondo training requires learning the graceful and powerful kicking, punching and blocking techniques practiced in traditional sets.ｂ

③作为具有创造力的动物，人任何时候都比武术招式或套路重要。

As a creative creature, man is always more important than any established style or system.

④“罗汉十八手”是少林拳术中较早的初级套路之一。

The Eighteen Arhat Skills are one of the first elementary boxing series in Shaolin Kungfu.

2. 办法、程式、技巧等

这种“套路”可以指老办法、旧程式、老一套的做法等，也可以指任何约定俗成的办法、程式和技巧，可以根据上下文译成the old style、routine、approach、pattern、strategy、conventional method等，如：

①中国对今年初发生在埃及的剧变的反应依旧是典型的老套路。

China’s response at the start of the year to the upheaval in Egypt was typical of the old style.

②我总是以同样的套路给他们解答，结果也总是差不多。

Anyway, I kind of go through the same routine of advising, and the results are kind of the same.

③然而一直以来主流的机器人研发、人造生物、人工智能走的都是中枢指挥的套路。

如果是指文学或艺术作品中的“套路”，则可用format、plot、stereotype、style、conventionality等词语来表示，如：

There is no fixed format for prose, which pursues natural beauty.

⑧如果使用这个套路的话，故事的转折点就在于灵光一现—突然一个很好的主意，然后便改变了一切。

In this plot, the turning point in the story is a eureka moment—when an idea comes to you and changes everything.

3. 花招、把戏、伎俩、诡计、圈套、陷阱等

这是“套路”产生的新的义项，通常用作名词，也可用作动词，如“我又被套路了”，以表达幽默、揶揄的色彩，通常可根据上下文翻译成trick、trap、setup、strategy、gimmick、ruse等，如：

①她是怎么识破他的套路?

How did she see through his trick?

②别信他的话，都是套路。

Don’t buy his words. You will fall into his trap.

③自古深情留不住，唯有套路得人心。

Love has always been betrayed by tricks/setups.

④我走过最远的路，就是你的套路。

The longest road I’ve taken is the tricky way you set me up.

⑤她套路多(她是个“心机婊”)。

She is a strategy person.

⑥这一切都是商家赚钱的套路。

I think all of this is just a moneymaking gimmick.

如果使用动词，也可译为play a trick on、pull a fast one on、play games with、has it all planned等，如：

⑩别傻了，那都是他的“套路”。

Don’t be silly. He has it all planned.
